Ron was a retired shipping supervisor for the former American Standard, Tiffin, having worked there from 1951-1993. He was a 1951 Sycamore High School graduate, a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army, and was a lifetime member of Sycamore American Legion Post No. 250.
For hobbies, Ron loved woodworking, breadmaking during the holiday season, playing golf and he also played fastpitch softball for the former Payne Realty softball team. He also was an ASA sanctioned umpire, a former Sycamore Little League coach, and loved all sports but really liked the Woody Hayes era of The Ohio State Buckeyes.
