Haldon graduated from Jackson Burgoon High School in 1959. After high school, while farming, he worked at Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria, for 30 and a half years, before retiring in 1996. Continuing his love of agriculture, he then began working for S&D Applications, retiring in spring 2014.
Haldon was a member of Kansas United Methodist Church. He loved woodworking, his dog, Kizzy, winter vacations, gardening and, most of all, his family, friends and life.

Hilda was a 1952 graduate of Carey High School. She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Budd Co. in Carey for eight years. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. Hilda and Wayne have devoted many hours over the years helping their son, Steve, with his business.
Devout to her faith, she was a member of The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey.
She loved camping at Mohican State Park and spending winters in Florida with Wayne for 14 years. She enjoyed the state fair, auctions, shopping and spending countless hours behind her sewing machine.
