A former employee of Enterprise in Tiffin, he spent most of his working life as an accountant. He spent seven years on the State Highway Patrol in northwest Ohio. He retired from Country Mark Co-op of Indianapolis, Ind., and after working several years in Washington, D.C., moved to Florida and started a business called Gulf Coast Accounting Services with his wife, Nancy. Ready for retirement, he sold the business after five years, and began working from home for several small business clients.
A member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Largo, Fla., he was a choir member, sharing his beautiful tenor voice. He loved to take cruises, and enjoyed participating in karaoke events. He had a passion for golf, and also was a very talented woodcrafter, even building his own home in Ohio.
