Cletus was a farmer and also worked at Pioneer Rubber until he retired in 1993. He was a member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo Church, Bellevue Eagles Aerie No. 490, Attica K of C, Four County Young-At-Heart and Huron County Farm Bureau.
He graduated in 1947 from Attica High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. Cletus liked playing cards, especially euchre with friends and family, and enjoyed traveling on numerous bus trips over the years. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and recalled traveling by train to watch them play in 1948. He also liked the Cleveland Browns and loved The Ohio State Buckeyes. In his retirement, he was a babysitter to his grandkids and enjoyed being with them.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Washington where she helped teach Sunday school for many years, was a past member of the Shelby K of C Ladies' Auxiliary and a member and past president of the American Legion Post #326. She was a coordinator for the Richland Therapeutic Riding Program, and an honorary member of the board of Independent Living Center of North Central Ohio. Barb also taught line dancing at the Shelby Senior Center and volunteered as a school room mother when her son was young. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, baking and decorating cakes.
