Dave was a member of Hopewell Church of God, who enjoyed watching drag races, building models, target shooting and spending time outdoors. He was a member of Carpenters and Millwright Union 248 for over 20 years in construction, retiring from Autolite in Fostoria after 25 years, most recently at Custom Machine in Bettsville. He spent 20 years on the Bascom Volunteer Fire Dept. retiring in 2011.
Dave spent as much time as he could with his family, attending different events for the grandchildren, even becoming an ordained minister and performing the wedding ceremony for his oldest granddaughter. He always wanted to divide himself by 17 so he could spend equal time with every grandchild.
