General Notes: Husband - Henry Winfield SMITH Jr

Mr. Smith went to Pensacola in 1934 as part of the management team opening J.J. Newberry's Department Store. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific as a Conbat Stevedore in CB Division 1036 and the 27th Special Construction Battalion U.S.N. He was a past U.S. Postal Service representative for Northwest Florida, Southern Mississippi and Louisiana. One of his responsibilities was to introduce and promote the use of ZIP Codes to Pensacola businesses. He was also past president of Pensacola Local 551 Post Office Clerks Union.

Mr. Smith was active in Lions Club International. He was past president of the Ensley Lions Club and charter president of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Lions Club.

As a member of the Masonic Lodge 15, he became a member of the York Rite, Scottish Rite and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He also worked as a volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America as a cubmaster and committeeman for Pack 15, P.K. Young School and Committee Chairman Troop 10, First Baptist Church.

While working with the Cub Scouts he was instrumental in establishing and was the general chairman for the first Cubmobile Derby in Pensacola. He was also the general chairman for the first Soapbox Derby in Pensacola. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Pensacola.

General Notes: Husband - Charles Edwin SHIREMAN

Chuck spent his very early years in Washington, D.C. before the family moved back to Tiffin, Ohio, where his parents originally were from.

Chuck graduated from Columbian High School in Tiffin Ohio in 1957. Chuck worked at Roth Packing Company in Tiffin, Ohio and New Hope Industries in Belleville, Ohio.

His last job was at Rio Salado Sportsman's Club in Mesa as a Range Master. This was his favorite job of all. He loved guns and loved teaching people how to shoot them. He worked there for 14 years.

Chuck is survived by his wife Floyce; daughter Dawn Reinbolt of Cave Creek, AZ, son Brian Shireman (Debra) of Oregon, Ohio; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; and sister Lois Dryfuse (Bill) of Tiffin, Ohio.
