General Notes: Husband - James Eugene DUNLAP

Jim was married on June 3, 1950 at Ft. Seneca to Shirley A. Barr. They made their home in Freemont, Ohio for the next several years. They moved back to Ft. Seneca where Jim worked as a machinist in a local factory.

The family moved to Las Vegas, Nev. in 1966 where he worked for various factories as a machinist.

Jim retired on Dec. 31, 1993. He and Shirley moved to Buffalo, Wyo. in July of 1994 and then to Worland in July of 2002.

Jim loved the outdoors, spending time boating, fishing, hunting and riding horses. He also enjoyed playing pool. In his later years, he took up golf and enjoyed playing the Buffalo and Worland courses. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

General Notes: Husband - Lloyd J KIESEL

Lloyd retired from National Machinery after 42 years with the company as an assembler. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and Masonic Lodge. Lloyd was an U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II in New Guinea. Lloyd was a loving and very devoted husband as demonstrated by the picture button of his wife he continued to wear after her death. Lloyd grew up on a farm and continued to help his parents on the farm. He enjoyed tractors, planes, and classic cars. He was very creative and a master tinkerer. Lloyd was curious about many things and enjoyed Latin and chemistry in high school.

Velma June (Barr) Kiesel, 86, of Tiffin, died at 7:32 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at St. Francis Nursing Home, Tiffin.

Velma was born April 15, 1925, in Vickery, to Charles and Nora (Matter) Barr. She married Lloyd Kiesel Oct. 8, 1950, in Fremont, and he survives in Tiffin.

Velma is survived by her five children, Diann Kiesel, PhD of Madison, Wis., Lucinda Kiesel of Tiffin, Rebecca (Kevin) Mullins of O'Fallon, Mo., Amy Kiesel of Muncie, Ind., and Mark Kiesel of Peoria, Ill.; two grandchildren, Amanda and Christian Kiesel; two stepgrandchildren, Danielle and Ben Mullins; a stepgreat-grandchild; a sister, Doris (Gordon) Knaack of Madison, Wis.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Wilma (Charles) Anderson.

Velma, a 1943 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, worked as a bookkeeper for the Zinc Company. In 1945, she graduated from the New York Institute of Photography and opened Modern Portrait Studio, Fremont. Velma worked as a teacher's aide at Krout School, Tiffin, for 10 years, retiring in 1986.

Velma taught Sunday school at the Methodist Church, Fremont, before marriage and later taught Sunday school at St. John's United Church of Christ, Tiffin, for several years. As a member of St. John's, she was active with the Ruth Circle and served as vice president of the church council in 1979 and then as the first women council president in church history in 1980 and 1981.

Velma spent over 20 years researching and writing her family history, resulting in the 1996 publication of "John Barr and Family of Sandusky County, Ohio." In 1992, she was inducted into the Ohio Genealogical Society: First Families of Ohio for having proved her ancestors lived in Ohio prior to 1820. Velma was a cat lover and always had them as pets.
